Foundation Learning – Hospitality (Level 1)

Age: 16-18 years old

A programme that will give you the opportunity to gain qualifications in Hospitality, Employability and Personal Development and Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT.

You will attend off the job training to develop your knowledge and understanding in the following areas

  • Serving food and drink
  • Food safety in catering
  • Basic food preparation and cooking
  • Customer service
  • Housekeeping
  • Front of house operations
  • Functional skills maths
  • Functional skills English
  • Functional skills ICT
  • Employability skills

In addition you will also undertake a work placement with a local employer and experience all areas of hospitality and catering to gain practical skills needed for your vocational qualification.

Progression from Foundation Learning – Hospitality

  • Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in Hospitality and Catering
  • Further Education to undertake level 2 courses in hospitality and catering
